Rev. Nathan Dugger
Pastor

Picture

The Rev. Nathan Dugger describes himself as a Child of God, a Person of Worth, and a daily-redeemed Disciple of Jesus Christ, living out his calling of making disciple-making disciples. Nathan is a native of these Appalachian Mountains, having been raised in Elizabethton, TN. No matter where he has lived, these mountains have always called him home (so, as he says, he comes by his thick
accent honestly). Nathan has grown up in the United Methodist Church, being deeply connected to the church’s ministry of grace and love, where he has served in numerous roles as a layperson and then as a clergy person after answering his call to ministry. He currently serves as the Associate Pastor at Wesley Memorial UMC in Johnson City, TN, and he is also a recent graduate of Duke Divinity School. He has been a bi-vocational minister, serving the local church while also working in higher education administration at East Tennessee State University. Nathan’s heart is for the local church, seeing people grow in and deepen their faith journey with God, and for reaching new people in new ways to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He recognizes God has blessed him as a sacred story-keeper, getting to learn from and listen to the journeys of others, and he is excited about getting to learn more about the good folks of Big Stone Gap.
