On Sunday March 25th, we will offer a couple of opportunities. First of all, we will present, as a part of our morning worship, the Easter Cantata: Then Came Sunday. Our choral director, Rick Galyean, our pianist, Cali Shell, and our choir have been working now for several weeks on this production. We invite you to come and experience this special musical presentation as a part of our morning worship that begins at 11:00 am.
On Thursday night March 29th, you are invited to come to the church at 6:00 pm for a very special worship event. This day is called Holy Thursday and we will remember Jesus last night on earth with his disciples. We will celebrate Holy Communion and we will have an opportunity to wash one another's feet. This can be a very moving service as you remember and re-enact some of these events.
Come back on April 8th as Pastor Goodman begins his mini-Easter sermon series entitled: In the Name of Jesus.
Easter isn’t just a single day in the Christian Year. It’s a season of 50 days, starting with celebration of the resurrection of Jesus celebrated on Easter Sunday, and concluding with the celebration of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost (the 50th day!). The three readings from Acts used in this series are drawn from the story of John and Peter, who bring healing to a person born with a serious disability, all in the name of Jesus. Healing is at the core of the ministry of Jesus, then and now. This Easter series, “In the Name of Jesus” explores the core dynamics of testimony, faith, and God’s saving power made available to all in his name. |
Easter 2018 Activities Easter is a very important time of worship. We would like to invite you to come and to participate in the worship opportunities that we are providing this year.
Take a look at the activities below and plan on joining with us for as many of them as possible. We also want you to come, and bring your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, kids in the neighborhood--you get the picture--to our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. It will also be held on Sunday afternoon March 25th. It begins at 2:00 pm and ends at 3:30 pm and is designed for children birth through 6th grade.
Of course the main worship event of this season is Easter Sunday on April 1st. We will gather for worship at 11:00 am. We will also continue our tradition of placing a cross in the church yard near the back parking lot. It is covered in chicken wire and you are invited to come and place flowers in the chicken wire to create a flowering Easter cross. Bring your own or take some from the buckets of flowers we will have on hand. After the church service, it is a great place to gather the family together and take pictures.
