If you are of a certain age, then you remember the Elvis Presley rendition of Blue Christmas: "I'll have a Blue Christmas without you..." A few years back, churches began celebrating a Blue Christmas Service on December 21st. This is the longest night of the year. These services are designed to help persons deal with the grief that often comes on around Christmas time. You are invited to come to such a service on Sunday night December 21st at 7:00 p.m.

The service will be held in the fellowship hall. It will be a multimedia service and will be designed to help those in attendance recognize and deal with their feelings of grief. It is especially appropriate for anyone that has experienced loss during the past year. It is also good for those still dealing with loss from years gone by. If you are dealing with issues of grief and/or know someone that is, then I encourage you to attend and/or bring along a friend that is dealing with issues of grief. It just may be the best present that you can give to yourself or a friend this Christmas season.
